China’s extensive coastal and maritime control zone encompasses remote islands and reefs, coastal mudflats, littoral chokepoints, and offshore observation stations. The on-site environment is characterized by marine salt spray, extreme diurnal light contrasts, dense fog and haze, and extremely low nighttime illumination. Conventional observation equipment often suffers from shortcomings such as blurred long-range identification, degraded image quality in foggy conditions, high false alarm rates, and poor hardware–software compatibility, making it difficult to support routine unattended reconnaissance and monitoring. The Kaimorui KC9455M smart network module, together with HK-100B’s integrated network control board solution leverages long range optical capabilities, deep learning AI algorithms, and highly stable hardware scheduling to address the challenges of on site construction in coastal and border defense, delivering a reliable, visualized hardware platform for maritime patrol and border surveillance.

I.Long-range, high-definition optical performance, tailored to the complex observation conditions of coastal and maritime environments.

The core requirement for coastal and border defense surveillance is to balance wide-area maritime scanning with the ability to identify distant targets in fine detail. The KC9455M is equipped with a 4-megapixel 1/1.8-inch CMOS image sensor, offering 55× optical zoom and a focal length of 10…-550mm, the wide-angle mode can cover vast stretches of coastal waters, while the telephoto mode can capture detailed features of vessels at sea and moving personnel along the shoreline.

In response to the unique lighting conditions of marine environments, the device delivers a color minimum illumination of 0.005 lux and can achieve 0.0005 lux in black-and-white mode, ensuring effective imaging even on moonless nights at offshore islands and reefs. With 120 dB ultra wide dynamic range, electronic defogging, and strong light suppression, it effectively mitigates glare from backlighting on the sea surface and the hazy effects of sea fog. An ICR infrared cut filter automatically switches, enabling seamless day and night imaging. H.265 encoding reduces bitrate overhead, allowing stable output of 2560×1440 high definition video even at remote offshore sites with limited bandwidth, thereby preserving high quality raw image data for border and coastal security monitoring.

Modern intelligent border and coastal defense is no longer limited to post event video playback; proactive early warning and real time event detection are what truly free up on duty personnel. The KC9455M features built in deep learning algorithms, integrating facial capture, pedestrian vehicle classification, and a variety of behavior detection capabilities, closely aligned with coastal guard operations. Its core module supports simultaneous capture of up to five faces; its pedestrian vehicle classification can distinguish between individuals traversing tidal flats and motorized vehicles; and it also covers an extensive array of detection rules, including boundary crossing alerts, area intrusion, loitering detection, crowd gathering monitoring, and object movement tracking.

Deployed along extensive coastlines, these unattended monitoring stations feature equipment that autonomously detects suspicious intrusions, prolonged loitering, and other abnormal behaviors, promptly issuing alarm signals without requiring personnel to continuously monitor screens, thereby significantly reducing the workload of frontline operators. Equipped with advanced features such as 3D digital noise reduction, power off memory, heartbeat detection, and privacy masking, the system can operate continuously in outdoor environments 24/7, minimizing false alarms and enabling a transition from passive video recording to proactive situational awareness and early warning.

III.HK-100B Control Board: Building a Reliable Scheduling Core for Border and Coastal Defense Equipment

The full potential of a high-performance movement can only be unleashed with a stable hardware control unit, HK-100B network control board serves as the scheduling core of the entire solution, featuring a compact 48×48 mm form factor that fits into the tight integration spaces of electro-optical pods and outdoor PTZ mounts, making it well-suited for developing new field deployable devices as well as upgrading existing systems in border and coastal defense applications.

The board features a comprehensive set of hardware interfaces, including RS485 and RS232-TTL command passthrough, alarm I/O, audio interface, CVBS analog output—balancing digital networking and analog signals. Natively compatible with KC-series camera heads and backward compatible with SONY VISCA and PELCO protocols.-P/D universal protocol ensures low latency transmission of zoom, focus, and PTZ control commands, eliminating command lag and loss of control. The alarm port supports external sensor integration for event triggered automation, while the network port enables connectivity with various border and coastal security platforms. A unified DC 12 V power supply simplifies field wiring, providing a robust hardware foundation for image transmission, alarm reporting, and PTZ coordination.

The border and coastal defense project encompasses both newly built intelligent management platforms and extensive upgrades and retrofits of existing equipment, imposing stringent requirements on hardware compatibility and solution flexibility. The KC9455M supports open ONVIF, PSIA, and CGI standard protocols, is compatible with mainstream SDKs and third-party management platforms, and can be directly integrated into existing border and coastal defense command systems, thereby reducing secondary development costs. The KC9455M is paired with HK-100B. Form a complete module, image acquisition-Intelligent Analysis-Instruction Scheduling-The signal output features a full link closed loop, eliminating compatibility issues caused by mixing and matching components from multiple vendors.

HK-100B supports OEM and ODM custom development, catering to diverse applications such as maritime optoelectronic systems, shore based monitoring stations, and mobile duty equipment, with customizable interfaces and functionalities. The complete module can be integrated into optoelectronic PTZs and heavy duty dome cameras, deployed at outposts, islands, and coastal sites, or mounted on mobile surveillance platforms, balancing fixed site guarding with mobile patrols.
