NVR stands for Network Video Recorder. It serves as the storage and forwarding core of network video surveillance systems, mainly responsible for video stream storage and transmission. It works cooperatively with video encoders or IP cameras to build a complete network monitoring system and realize video recording, storage and data forwarding.

Different from traditional analog video recorders, NVR needs no conversion between analog and digital signals. It directly receives digital video streams from multiple IPCs via IP network. Featuring strong compatibility, it supports mainstream protocols such as ONVIF and RTSP, and is compatible with IPC devices of various brands and models.
Its core functions cover centralized storage, real-time live view, video playback, remote access and device management. Equipped with surveillance-grade hard drives, it centrally stores videos in formats including H.265 and H.264 and supports cyclic overwriting to ensure uninterrupted recording. Built-in decoding chips enable simultaneous multi-channel video decoding. Users can connect monitors via HDMI interface for local real-time viewing. It supports fast video searching by time, channel and event for convenient historical footage playback.
In addition, it features network penetration and DDNS functions. Users can remotely view live videos, play back recordings and manage front-end IPCs anytime and anywhere via mobile APPs, PC clients or web browsers. Widely used in households, stores, enterprises, parks and other monitoring scenarios, it builds a complete and efficient digital video monitoring system together with IP cameras.
